I’ve purchased a set of wedges from them directly before and they are pretty good. The 66 degree wedge is definitely in the niche category as I don’t expect to use it too many times during a round of golf. However, I wanted to try it out and see how well it works for my game. I haven’t been out to the course yet (next week) but I did bring it to my Top Golf outing last night. Much to my surprise I hit this club extremely well and I was very consistent with where I hit it on the club face (pictured). I hit around 10 shots with it and they went vertical very quickly, so quickly that I was concerned about hitting the ceiling in the bay we were in. It was close, but I avoided that situation. I was hitting shots maybe 55-60 yards I’d guess (the launch monitor wasn’t tracking most of the shots) but it I was very consistent with the strikes and the distance I was landing them. I’m a little surprised at the bounce at appears (visually) to be more than stated. The club feels solid and has a good weight to it. It has their traditional velvet style grip with BombTech logo. I’m not a fan of the green painted grooves or the very prominent logo on the back of the club as it makes the club appear more cheap and gimmicky. I guess I’m more of a traditional golfer that likes the look of all chrome, titanium, black, etc. with simple branding. But it works and isn’t a deal breaker at all.Overall, the club looks good, feels good and hits very nicely. I’m going to go through the bag and see what I can do without in my next outing so I can work this club in. BombTech offers a lot of deal on their site so you’ll likely find it cheaper (currently discounted to $57) there. 5/5 stars. I’d recommend it.
